The front door from the inside – which leads to the dogtrot!  So excited about this feature of the house.

One of the best things – this door (and another one just like it) are original to the house.  Doors from 1853?  Yes, please!

We hope this room will be a dining room – complete with a restored fireplace on the left wall.

Shiplap anyone?  Right now, we are not sure this shiplap can be exposed – it has endured a lot of damage.  But it’s very cool to see it and know it’s there!

We obviously have a lot of work to do!  This is the east side of the house.  We are considering taking out both former doors – still remains to be seen.

I think one of the coolest features of the house is that some of the wood is original to the home’s 1853 beginning.  These boards are on the front porch.  You can still see where the mill cut the boards!

 

Dixie Dog already has a friend!  I’m seeing lots of fun in the future for these two!

The West side of the house.  We are fortunate to still have the bricks that were once on this chimney, so we are looking forward to having this restored.

 

Back side of the house.  We hope to add on here with an additional bedroom and bathroom – maybe even a lengthy back porch.
